Books and magazines are crucial for certain inmates, as they often struggle to access affordable books for inmates. Many individuals behind bars may not have much money, and their loved ones on the outside may also find it difficult to purchase and send them even a $10 or $20 book. This leaves many inmates in a position where they feel compelled to beg for help, which can be extremely debilitating. 

To assist with this, our services allow inmates to buy a book or subscribe to a magazine through an inmate book purchase. In fact, we facilitate payments using Book of Stamps, which serves as a primary currency within the prison system.

An inmate can pay a $25 fee to order up to 5 books at the actual cost, specifically for brand new titles upon request. Otherwise, we source used books in good condition from companies like Amazon. We charge the inmate or client the actual cost displayed on the book’s cover. For instance, if a book costs $20 on the cover, but we buy it for $12, the inmate only pays the standard price while we make the $8 difference. For those interested in supporting inmates, purchasing books through us and considering it a donation is a great way to help without a financial burden.

We do have a separate fee structure for the time and energy spent to fulfill each order. Setting up one book takes time, but ordering multiple books reduces the time required per book.

Our structure offers lower fees for larger orders, reducing our costs as order sizes increase. When you and other inmates pool resources to create a 5 Book order, you receive a $10 credit for other services, such as our IS Concierge Service. For those with a little more funding, this service can assist in locating the books you wish to read. 

Additionally, inmates may also order a magazine subscription for inmates through our services, and we plan to launch a special magazine offering via mail.
