About Inmate Support Services

The Founder believes that the best way to Donate Acts of Service and to Give Back is Anonymously! However, he also understands that the public, clients, communities, and government agencies deserve transparency and accountability regarding who is behind this mission and who is willing to answer questions and take responsibility, especially in the areas of criminal justice support and family advocacy.

This accurate, detailed short story about the Founder is told so that you and all readers know and understand that it takes a special person to really lead change; many have dreams, talk, and want, but

FEW CAN WALK THE WALK; THEN

ALMOST ALL OF THEM WOULD NOT WANT

TO WALK THIS WALK NOT WITH THIS GROUP

but

I'M COMMITTED TO GETTING THIS DONE,

PROVIDED OTHERS JOIN AND HELP TOO, especially in providing inmate services.

The Founder, Paul, was born in 1972 and began his entrepreneurial journey by selling apples door to door between 1978 and 1981 for 10 cents each or $1 for a dozen, using a red Radio Flyer wagon when he wasn't attending kindergarten to 2nd grade. He filed his first official business as a partnership with Steve Weissman in California around 1986 during Junior High: Evets Baseball Cards. After moving away from his parents in 7th grade, Paul completed the 10th grade before dropping out and becoming a successful runway model in San Francisco. Unfortunately, a motorcycle accident left him unable to walk for four months, prompting him to sell magazines door to door at 18. He later worked in debt collections for four years before moving to Aspen, Colorado, to serve as a concierge at the Ritz Carlton. There, he fell for Bethany Newcomb and relocated to Boulder, Colorado, where he excelled as a top salesman for Popp Telecom. On April 22, 1999, he founded Colorado Public Records, which would eventually employ over 350 people by 2003. By that time, Paul was earning a seven-figure income at just 30 years old, having purchased his first twin-engine Cessna 421, a penthouse near Coors Field, where the Colorado Rockies play baseball, and a ski-in/ski-out three-bedroom, two-bath residence in Breckenridge. Remarkably, he built this success with just $8,100 and credit cards at the age of 26, with no significant outside help except for a $25,000 inheritance received around 2010 or 2012, which has its own story.

After losing nearly everything during an incarceration—friends, businesses, assets, opportunities, and financial stability—Paul gained a profound understanding of the vulnerabilities faced by incarcerated individuals within the criminal justice system. This awareness highlighted the urgent need for criminal justice support, as people lose property, struggle with legal complexities, experience communication breakdowns, and are unable to protect their assets, families, or futures.

Years later, after encountering another legal issue that will soon be a highlighted story on this site and in court, Paul faced similar systemic failures and obstacles from the inside of the system. These experiences, combined with his past and abilities, ultimately inspired the creation of Inmate Services, a vital organization aimed at providing inmate services and family advocacy for those navigating the challenges of incarceration.

WHY INMATES SERVICES EXISTS

Inmate services was established to provide crucial criminal justice support, ensuring that individuals and their families affected by the criminal justice system do not have to face these challenges alone. Inmate services believes that no person should lose their entire life, family, property, legal rights, or future simply because they lack support, resources, communication, or family advocacy while incarcerated.

Our Vision

At Inmate Services, our vision is to build a community where mental health is a top priority, and individuals can access the essential criminal justice support and family advocacy they need to achieve optimal well-being.
